Doing nice clean work will make the project. But don’t forget to trim the flashing and weep ropes and wash the brick before you leave the job!

Restoring Terra Cotta

Replacing this terra cotta on a historical building in Chicago must have been a gratifying restoration project, It’s gotta be fun to find matching material!

Cavity Wall Failure

This masonry cavity wall failure was due to mortar build-up on the flashing in the cavity causing the drainage to be restricted and moisture to build up. This job was shut down for inspection! The graffiti makes up for it, I guess.

Inside Corner

Building an inside corner with different color brick of various styles presents a challenge. The 1/4 bond on these 12 inch brick didn’t make the project any easier. Then to the outside corner where the stone started on a radius on the front of the building. I had fun with this project as the corner guy and I think it looks pretty good considering the challenge!

Job site safety goes a long way! Would you work on this rig? OSHA requires a support every 8 feet at minimum. What could happen here to cause injury?
